Types - Rationale

I have chosen to use a calligraphy handwriting style type for my final type cover, linking back to the idea of the dad writing a letter to his son in the war. Creating a handwritten type is also another way to express how soldier communicates with their family during the war since there are no other ways apart from writing.
I have edited a low opacity font written "10th Birthday" as a background, this is to remind the reader about the unforgettable moment when the main character received the letter written off his dad during his 10th birthday.
I have also used layering with silhouettes throughout my design, these are to incorporate my final design with all the memories that the main character could have created with the dad if he did exist in his lifetime. Silhouettes are also used to show negative, and the depression of the story.
